Please join The M.I.X.!MIX stands for Meet, Interact, and eXplore! What's it all about? It's about MIXING people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and views together in a lively discussion around a short reading (like a book club without the book for those of us who do not have time to read an entire book!). It's about taking time to meet new friends. It's about coffee, tea, and food. It's about a safe place to explore new ideas and to share your thoughts and opinions. It's about engaging in lively, respectful discussion. It's about a night out!The MIX will go as follows:Attendees will be provided a link or document to read ahead of time. The reading will be linked HERE in the description where you can get the reading 1-2 weeks prior to the event.  It will be a short reading, article, book snippet, etc chosen to provoke discussion & thought. You may agree with it, agree with some of it, totally disagree, or have no clue whether you agree or not. But that is the point! We want to hear everyone's thoughts, beliefs, and insights without judgment to create a lively discussion! The readings will be manageable for all. It's best to read beforehand, but if you have a very busy week and don't get to it, come anyway! You will probably be able to jump into the discussion after hearing the comments of others. The MIX will be on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. in Danvers.7:00 - 7:30 "Meet and Mingle" - Grab a cup of coffee and some food! Meet some new friends in a social setting!7:30 - 8:30 Introductions and discussion around the reading. At approximately 8:30 the discussion will close. Everyone is welcome to stay, discuss, mingle, talk about other things, eat some more, & have more coffee. The MIX has one basic rule: RESPECT :).SHOW RESPECT by listening to others while they are talking, allowing them to complete their thought prior to commenting.SHOW RESPECT by not monopolizing the discussion hour, allowing for everyone to have a chance to share if they want to.SHOW RESPECT by "disagreeing respectfully". We will all have varying beliefs and opinions. An opposing view should be an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the person and what has shaped their ideas, rather than a chance to "argue and attack" an opposing view.SHOW RESPECT by helping to create a safe, non-judgmental environment and community where people can share, ask questions, think, build genuine relationships, and interact. What to bring - Just bring yourself! Feel free to bring a small plate of snacks or food to share but no pressure! Just come and enjoy! There will be food provided and you can just come and eat! Bring the reading (if you want), your thoughts, questions, comments, etc. Jot them down, or just have them in your brain ready to go! Come ready to meet new people! Want to come and just listen? That's fine too! This event is hosted by members of North Shore Bible Church. The readings will often be from a Christian perspective, however, everyone's thoughts are to be shared whether in agreement or not. This is what will truly make it "THE MIX". These readings should spark discussions around our views, beliefs, and personal experiences around many things such as life, the world, humanity in general, God, Christianity / religion, behaviors, the way we treat others, morality, our personal experiences, ethics, and so much more! The goal is to have short readings that are manageable, therefore, the articles and readings may be edited and shortened in order to fit this goal. DIRECTIONS  On rt 114 turn at the Lowes sign (across st from Papa Ginos). Drive thru the car dealerships to the brick building in the back (has a Mortgage co. sign). If facing Lowes we are to the LEFT in the next parking lot. Please check HERE for the short reading. If it's not yet posted, please check back - it will be posted soon! PLEASE JOIN US!!
