Lai is a seasoned Information Technology professional with over 40 years’ experience in Hong Kong, mainland and Australia. He was a graduate of PolyU and Griffith University with a Master in Technology Management. He was the Interim Vice-President (Administration) of PolyU, an outstanding alumni and distinguished Fellow; and also served many boards, including as Former President of Hong Kong Computer Society and is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Prof. Lai was the Government Chief Information Officer of Hong Kong SAR Government from Jan 2012 to Jan 2015.
