Bring your lunch (beverages provided) and enjoy the first of two movies, released twenty years apart, that feature Dame Judi Dench as Queen Victoria in unlikely friendships with servants. After the death of her husband Prince Albert, Queen Victoria is immobilized with grief. It takes the friendship of servant John Brown (comedian Billy Connolly) to bring her out of her sorrow and reconnect her with public life--but scurrilous gossip and the disapproval of the royal family and household threaten the relationship. Rated PG-13 for some very brief nudity and some strong language.
