Pedro Ivo Frota "Monolito" Pre-release tour Monolith Album (2016) Monolith '' And there goes the artist maden / to carve a new ship / on a dreamed monolith / across time / his only ally '' (Pedro Ivo / Mauro Aguiar) '' Monolith", the third album by Pedro Ivo, rises aware of the challenge and responsibility to stand for contemporary music with originality that draws on the rich tradition of Brazilian music. The album is marked by restless arrangements that mix electronic elements (synthesizers) with acoustic and electric (guitars, piano, strings, woodwinds, brass) performed by a band of extreme competence: - Ivo Senra (synthesizers); André Siqueira (acoustic and electric guitar); Lúcio Vieira (drums); Bernardo Aguiar (percussion) and André Vasconcelos (acoustic and electric bass). All arrangements for choir, woodwind and strings were made by Pedro Ivo with the participation of the brass band '' Inventos', a string quartet regimented by the cellist, Pablo Arruda and the violinist, Dhyan Toffolo and voices of Ana Ughana, Luiza Borges, Taynã Frota, Aline Paes and Andre Muato. The CD was produced by Apoena, NY resident for 7 years, aware of what is best produced in the world music; and mixed by the sound engineer, Fernando Lodeiro who has won some Grammys, including the album 'Radio Society' by Esperanza Espalding. The fusion between old / traditional and some references to international pop, as Bjork, and the search for an experimental aesthetic is very well measured and marks the album from its beginning to the end. The repertoire brings us the most genuine Brazilian music making reference to names as Milton and Caymmi, evident in the tracks: '' Chamar o Vento''; and ''As mãos de Yemanjá'', sparing no poetic, melodic and harmonic boldness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RnXbe2c60A
