Come hear stories of spring adventure in New England from one of our region's most prolific outdoorsman, Brian Threlkeld. Snacks will be served by Good to-Go, a local adventure meal company, and over one thousand dollars worth of Arc'teryx gear will be given away in a free raffle. Drinks will be served to those with a valid ID. Tips and donations collected at the bar will go to support the great work of a the local non-profit, Outdoor Sport Institute. The OSI work to inspire young people to use outdoor sport to change their lives and the lives of those around them. More about the talk:This winter, Brian Threlkeld and two friends traveled the length of Maine's 100-Mile Wilderness along the Appalachian Trail corridor from Monson to Abol Bridge. With no prior knowledge of anyone else completing the most rugged and remote section of the AT in calendar winter, they are likely the first to ski and snowshoe the whole darn thing in one push. Facing unique challenges daily, the team worked hard together to surmount every obstacle they faced, from dodging trains, to gear malfunctions, to punching thru beaver ponds. After nine days out in the wild, they were beyond excited to stumble out to Abol Bridge and to well-earned dry clothes.
