Famed guitarist, singer-songwriter, and soul impresario, Boz Scaggs, has been jammin' since the late 60's. The oft-reclusive performer shuns the spotlight but Boz Scaggs tour dates are scheduled every summer to play to his loyal fan-base. Scaggs released his latest album, Speak Low, in 2008 and has continued to tour to promote the disc. In 2010, the legendary guitarist joined forces with Donald Fagen and Michael McDonald to tour the United States and were billed as "The Dukes of September Rhythm Revue." The native Ohioan met Steve Miller in 1959 and began his career playing guitar on Steve Miller Band's first two albums in the '60s. By 1968, he scored his own recording contract with Atlantic Records, but he would have to wait until 1976 to achieve mainstream success with his seventh studio album, Silk Degrees, which reached #2 on the Billboard 200. It featured his biggest hit to-date, "Lowdown", and Boz Scaggs embarked on a sold-out world tour. Scaggs continued to record and tour throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s, spending a lot of effort experimenting with different sounds. In 2003, he released But Beautiful, which was a collection of jazz standards that debuted at #1 on the Billboard Jazz survey and he has maintained a vigorous touring schedule. His most recent album, Speak Low, returned him to the Billboard 200 and marked a 40 year time-span as a successful charting artist. Since his acclaimed tour with Michael McDonald and Donald Fagen in 2010, Boz Scaggs has continued to headline his own shows throughout the US.
