Other trumpeters in mainstream music seem content to simply stand in the background as accompaniment to their band; not Chris Botti. From a fairly young age, Botti has performed tour dates with some of the biggest names in music and achieved success with his timeless jazz albums. While Chris Botti hasn't released an album in a few years, each year he performs over 250 concerts to ecstatic audiences, and his 2011 tour dates will be no different. After playing as a child, Chris Botti was playing with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich before he finished college. Soon after, tour dates with Paul Simon and Sting would have a profound effect on Botti, and he has cited both as major influences. Botti's solo career took off after the release of Night Sessions in 2001, which was well received by critics and has become a fan favorite. The jazz trumpeter has become hugely popular for his 2009 project, Chris Botti In Boston, a live album where Botti and the Boston Pops Orchestra are joined by music legends like Steven Tyler, Yo Yo Ma, and Sting. Fans who are eagerly awaiting Chris Botti's next album/project can catch the artist on one of dozens of his tour dates in 2011 and 2012. Botti will tour the US extensively this year, and even make a short trip to Japan and China in November. Beginning on December 15 and extending to the end of the month, Chris will be performing regularly at The Blue Note bar in New York. Chris Botti's concert schedule ends in March 2012, but don't wait to catch this virtuoso on his tour dates in 2011.
