Got into the Sydney warehouse rave scene in 1993, and was pretty much addicted as well as spun-out by the music & culture that these parties contained, made a lot of friends and acquaintances that made me less hesitant to attending them even though the negative stigma attached to these parties was taking a turn for the worst. During the time there would be 3 or more small intimate parties of the same style happening, a few months later this encouraged me to patronise the music that was both Hard-edged, raw, and had a driving bass which lengthened my peak and keep me awake enough to charge to as other music played at the time was on the brink of what I'd classify as too happy, cheesy, mainstream or, pop definitely not what I enjoyed unless happy faces gurning and drooling with lollipops is your thing, I suppose this is what I'd call a learning curve or settling for my "acquired taste". Around '95 I was going ballistic with the tunes and narrowed my choices to the DJ / entertainer level rather that promoter / event scale level, around this time bigger parties were becoming a regular thing and it sad to say was killing the small intimate parties that I was becoming more passionate about supporting. 1996 was the time for enlightenment, during this time I ended up realising that my calling through music was for the Harder-Style, I followed rigorously a wicked act called the A.G.U. (Australian Gabberz United) which consisted of 3 unreal individuals namely Geoff da Chef a.k.a the Hardcore Fiend, Tymez II, and DJ Chuck during this time this guys were the shiznit that shaped my taste in music. I employed in my style Geoff's hard beat cutting, Tymez II selection and presentation, but definitely Chuck's wicked technical cutting skills. I was given a tape recording by my mate Dave a.k.a. MC DaveMack 187 called a definition of a Hardcore Tape by Geoff the Chef this became one of my prized possessions and until this day its in my archives for keep sake, I without bias can say this gave me the strength, well the introduction to Industrial Strength a label owned by Lenny Dee to describe the sounds contained within the recording definitely "Ultra Lurid Hardcore !" it had tunes from DJ SkinHead, Delta 9, D.O.A. (Disciples Of Annihilation), Rob Gee, and Nasenbluten to name a few. In 1996 as well I got introduced to record spinning / mixing, WARNING this is the best thing that can happen to anyone, its totally addictive, it can straighten the bent, take you higher than your best chosen drug, if used wisely definitely a road to rehab..... its a bit cold, can someone hand me my straight jacket. All jokes aside definitely encourage anyone on the down low to check it out learn the count, then slowly find yourself in the midst of absolute bliss. 1997 was a great year seemed to have found a partner that I could relate to and enjoy my journey / missions with and seemed to be someone that can be converted to the core, she is later known in the Hardcore scene as DJ I.S.Kore (Iskore). I managed to locate one of my old Filo mate Harold and checked if he still had his Technics 1200's available for sale and luckily he did I purchased it although old these dex provided me years of pure unadulterated Hardcore pleasure not to mention history as I think its circa 1983 and has been recycled from the ashes of the old "the Cellar" nightclub from Coogee Bay hotel at Coogee. All through this time until end of '98 I was being coached and jammed with my rave DJ / mates DJ's Kaos, Lock-Jaw (Regulator Records), the Method (Radio Distortion) a.k.a earlier known as NutBaby, Lost Korez (Radio Distortion), Tymez II, DJ 911 whom both joined forces to form Regulator Records, Daniel K a.k.a. Thrashcoder, John L a.k.a. Mr. Whippy, Tony Mann (Vortex), Jamie a.k.a. the NoiseGenerator (Rage Records), Vasko S, and MC DaveMack to learn and enhance my mixin' skills. In 1999 to 2001 DJ Iskore and myself known before as DJ Indefinite Ground formed Xtremecore Productions a production company that was solely formed to promote and exploit all forms of the Harder-Edged core to the Sydney population as the small Hardcore parties were diminishing in numbers and was being killed by large parties, and the scene seemed to lose the very essence of "Hardcore" which was in our view unacceptable. Xtremecore parties was then born with our debut party called "The Hard Way I & II", followed by BoomBassStik, Beatopsy, and Hardcore D'siac to name a few. We promoted local DJ acts as well as Trackers / Live PA that we called the HardBytes, our main imports were from Newcastle from a label called Bloody Fist, namely Mark N, and Syndicate as budgets seemed to get in the way. Made a few mates that turned industry specialists like the Boof Dancers (Acid Bath parties), MindFuct, Vortex, BitchFace, Acquired Taste productions. Helped with a radio station called Radio Dex and was at a show called Vortex with Tony Mann, and the NoiseGenerator, this was an excellent opportunity to promote Hardcore coupled with 2SER's Radio Distortion that was comprised of Geoff da Chef, the Method, and Lost Korez. 2002 to 2003 was pretty much a time to reflect back on the past and perhaps plan for the future. Saved up some cash for our big day, honeymoon, and a set of new 1210's, accomplished all of these steps and kept the oldies on one side ecstatic, while the other chilled. R.I.P. Xtremecore on the 3rd quarter of 2003, this was abit of a downer relationship wise for me as I split up with my long-term partner which officially dissolved the partnership previously called Xtremecore Productions. But it opened up a new loop for me, I found a new me but now rather than raving its progressed to the club level. I hanged-out with a few outstanding people whom I jammed with on many occasions to either teach, interact, or just plainly enjoyed mixing records with namely Conan Duffy a.k.a. DJ the Wang (Gas) a good mate in his own right, this dude is one of the four dude's / dudette's that I reckon helped kick start shuffling in Sydney, Brad a.k.a Stryker who loves shufflin' around as well as mixin' tech-house, minimal techno, and hard-edged trance, DJ Flip (Gas) who played wicked uplifting Trance, Kai a.k.a. K-Sum had an excellent collection of early Hard Trance who's making an impression with the Sydney shufflin' crew, Jennifer Bexley a.k.a. UK Jenn a good friend whom I encouraged from the start dunno where she's headed musically but I spent countless hours helping to hone her turntable skills to find herself she has her own style that is quite distinct but most definitely has the Harder-Edge imbedded in her roots, Ed a HardStyle music enthusiast and pokie buddy (I've told him with the money we won / spent we should buy new paddles to help his family get across the Tasman quicker.... hehehe... jokes only) Bobby V a great friend that's all about HardHouse, Glenn a.k.a. DJ Chimpy (Sorted Sundaze) who's just plain wicked and stays loyal to the beats and his partner Erin who really loves the Harder-Style and as I hear recently playing happy Hardcore and free-form, and Toddski whether he likes it or not the HardStyle will prevail in his heart not to mention a growing old skool floor filler collection, Chris a.k.a. DJ OnnIt (2004 Club Plastic DJ Comp winner) a mad friend and comrade who's got a wicked collection and mixing style of Banging Techno and Trance, Benny G who loves mixin; and shufflin' to the HardStyle but is always away on missions, Phil who recently moved to Townsville he shuffles and mixes both HardStyle and free-form Hardcore, Shane a.k.a. Big Red who's starting out mixing both HardStyle and happy Hardcore and last but not least Carl a.k.a. Private Kunt who love's spinning and dancing to tunes I reckon he's got lots of potential as long as he puts his mind to it and doesn't loose his cool (hehehe.... temper temper young chap). All the above mentioned are definitely people that love the music, and culture as they were all once punters that believed in the progression of Trance, so hope you watch them when given the chance as like all types of performing arts they need an audience to help the artist grow musically and within. Late 2003, I relaunched my DJ career under DJ Patrix, joined the "Thursday Delights" IceBox nightclub DJ comp through the help of an old rave friend Anne Moore (Annie) as well as Club Plastic DJ comp where I got into the semi-finals gave me a huge motivation to re-think my style the choice by far is HardStyle Trance as it is the closest I suppose to my previous passion Gabber. I played numerous morning recoveries called DayDreams at both the Incc Bar on Pitt Street, Sydney then, the Hunter Hotel on Hunter Street, Sydney, it was definitely a very refreshing start to a new DJ career as I was offered a Saturday night residency at a club night called Underworld @ the Hyde Park bar although a bit short lived I was also given another residency chance by a guy called Chris Kross for a club night called "Ahead" held every Saturday at the City Hotel, also had a Sunday night residency called Static Sundays playing alongside some of Sydney's top DJ's like Keely, Micky D, Peewee Ferris, Bexta, DLX at the Diamond Lounge, this was promoted by an old mate Uncle Harry and Josh Campbell from Independent Reflections. In 2004 I considered HardStyle as a more adult-like Hardcore music passion as it is in Australia more played at clubs and some raves, during these times of identity crisis I met up with an ex-IceBox employee Tennille Scicluna (Thursday Delights, Institution) that started a club night called "Wanted" with an ex-IceBox club night promoter Josh van Aalst they both make up Josh and Friends presents a Trance production company, I started as a regular punter then somehow worked up enough courage to get sets to fill-in new comer spots, then became the back-up in case one of the DJ couldn't make their set, this was one of my most memorable club times as I met another down to earth individual John Ferris who became a good friend and karaoke partner (hahaha... let's keep our day job, eh?!) he is PeeWee Ferris's brother and is currently heading Sony music down-under, this person is one of the most ideal friend / mentor as he just has an amazing grip on music as he has had over 2 decades of musical backing, I only found out that he mixed one of my all time fav albums "Strictly Techno 2", bloody unreal!. Mid to late 2006 I met 8 way cool individuals namely Kaicey Coleman aka DJ Raziel (Seraphim Records) who I managed to hang with a fair few sleepless weekends, whom actually worked at one of my fav record stores BPM Records (now called The Record Store) in Sydney, I didn't even know that he was working there till he wasn't (hehehe.... always forget to look around when I'm listening to trax) he is one of the individuals that's keeping the Hardcore alive in Sydney and I can't wait to get my hands on Seraphim Records first release by Raziel in early 2007, Jayson a.k.a. DJ Hijinx we share the same birthday exactly 10 years apart this guy has a very similar taste in music style as myself and we originate from the same country in the South East all I can say about this dude is he should be watched closely as I reckon with the right motivation he will be a person that will accelerate in rank within the DJ / producing community specially with available motivators / resources around him, Ian Hard (BLM) this dude is a muffin magnet still young and energetic fun dude to hang with a good DJ in his own right (gotta chill on the booze though as he could be broke really soon unless he becomes a share-holder of an alcoholic beverage company, ... hehehe), Aaron a.k.a. Alles Kaput a dude that has his firm grip on the sounds of the core whom I recently assisted with his understanding of the concept of beat matching / counting he's definitely got a big heart to show, Adam a.k.a. the Terrorist (Tera Australis Records), I remember him from my Hardcore days when I used to perform as Indefinite Ground and he used to watch the past Sydney Hardcore crew, I bumped into him by chance at one of the sleepless weekends at Raziel's, and I managed to introduce him to my good mate "Gee dawg" to quote his words "I enjoy this company", when I met him I recognised him and we clicked instantly and was lucky enough to be invited back to his home where I was given a copy of his first HardStyle record release that grew on me soo much that I promise to include into my next mixed release, Nate a.k.a. DJ Resonate (Moulin Rouge, Candy's Apartment) who's been there at the start of the transitions within the Trance scene who's pushed through and joined the electro wave in Sydney, Matt a.k.a. DJ Madix (Young Blood, Candy's Apartment) have jammed with this DJ a fair few times and he never fails to amaze me with the kind of tunes he pulls out, he has also acknowledged my skills enough to ask me to scratch live to his set at Candy's when opportunity and time constrains permit he plays some serious arse shakin' electro, and lastly the great DJ Ryzer (Club Plastic, United Mayhem, Plastic on the Coast) all around nice guy and spinnin' battle DJ comrade one afternoon not soo long ago we got together and ripped it up on 4 dex just pulling one track after another from down memory lane to date this was one of the most satisfying jams I've had in memory just scratchin' and chirpin' the arvo away in style at his local central coast residence. The above-mentioned individuals will always have a warm spot in my heart and memory 'till the days of old because of their professionalism, skill sets and definitely their appreciation of the scene and the Harder-Edged music beats, so big respect. I have been pretty lucky with the types of connections I've had networking wise within the music scene as I have been asked on numerous occasions by a crew called the Australiens who promote massive 3 day events also known as Bush Doofs thanx to the help of a good mate Pete, who also asks me on numerous occasions to guest on his Friday night Saturday morning Trance radio show at his local Illawarra community radio station 106.9fm where they promote and allow me to exploit the Harder-Style to a broader suburban audience. To date I've manage to release 6 mixed live sets that are available through the Sydney Underground HardStyle network in time I am hoping that I come across any individuals that would be kind enough to donate some space for my file in-order for me to stream them in real-time. Well Ladies and Gentlemen always remember that to some of us Hardcore / HardStyle is not only a statement but a way of life, ..... don't loose focus, thank you for taking time to visit my page and hopefully have just read my Discography. Keep the music and the scene alive as well as underground away from selfish and greedy promoters that use DJ's Live PA's and their music without giving anything in return to the artist / entertainer. Thanx and God Bless.
