Those who haven't heard of the post-punk revival trio, Two Door Cinema Club, soon will, as this Irish band is taking the mainstream music world by storm. After playing for just four years, the members of Two Door Cinema Club have already released a hit album, titled Tourist History, and have played tour dates around the world. Two Door Cinema Club has even more scheduled tour dates in 2011, including concert dates at some of the summer's biggest music festivals. Those who haven't heard of the band should immediately rush out and buy Tourist History, or check out one of their hugely popular tour dates this summer. Friends Alex Trimble (guitar, lead vocals), Sam Halliday (guitar), and Kevin Baird (bass) formed Two Door Cinema Club in Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland in 2007. Originally a four-piece band called LifeWithoutRory, the group's drummer left and the group has used session drummers on their albums and on tour dates. Two Door Cinema Club began writing songs that were posted on MySpace, becoming hugely popular in a short time. The encouragement led the band to record the EP, Four Words to Stand On in 2009, which was praised and publicized by critics. After catching the attention of Kitsuné Records, Two Door Cinema Club released their debut album, Tourist History in 2010. The album received great reviews and, for a debut album, has even done well on the mainstream charts. The success of Tourist History has led to copious tour dates in 2010 and 2011. Two Door Cinema Club has had a touring relationship with Phoenix, and have opened many tour dates for them in the past year. They have played many concert dates throughout the UK and Ireland, and have performed brief tours in Australia, Asia, and even in Hong Kong with dream pop band, Delphic. Also, uniquely enough, Two Door Cinema Club has played a number of May Balls in the UK, most famously at the University of Cambridge. The band is probably best known for their tour dates at summer music festivals, which will continue this summer in 2011. Two Door Cinema Club has almost four solid months worth of festival and tour dates in 2011 all over Europe, North America, and East Asia. The tour dates for 2011 are currently ongoing and will be extremely busy jumping around Europe and Asia from June to August. Highlighted festival tour dates will include the Hurricane/Southside Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Oxegen Festival, Lollapalooza, Summersonic Festival, and the Reading and Leeds Festivals. Beginning on September 8 in Boston, Two Door Cinema Club will perform a handful of 2011 tour dates in North America, ending on September 24 in San Diego. While there are plenty of tour dates for Two Door Cinema Club in 2011, fans shouldn't wait to buy tickets for their local concert date.
