Hunter Library houses over 175,000 volumes of print and audio visual materials: including DVD's, music CD's, CD-Rom's, Books-on-CD, and Books-on-Tape for all age and reading levels. We subscribe to 21 local, national and international newspapers, including La Opinion (Hispanic) and Kalonikali (Tongan). Hunter also houses over 350 magazine titles for children, teens, and adults, with back issues available for checkout. Need an Internet connection? We have 22 PC's that access the Internet and offer word processing - and bring your laptop to access our wireless connection. Hunter is equipped with a self checkout system, but our friendly staff is always available to help you.
Hunter has the largest and most diverse collection of Spanish materials in the County, with over 6,300 in our collection. In addition to print materials, you will find DVD's, CD's, Books-on-CD or on cassette. For those wanting to learn English, Hunter has a large collection of "English as a Second Language" materials to choose from. We currently have three Spanish-speaking librarians on staff to help our growing Latino population. Our language learning collection features material in over 40 different languages.
To serve our growing younger population, Hunter offers Baby n' Me storytimes for children ages 6months to 2 ½ years, and combined storytime for those 2 ½ to 5 years-old. Our "Ready-to-Read" collection features resources to help parents prepare their children to learn to read: books, videos & DVD's, phonics, & concept books. We also offer a wide variety of programs throughout the year for all age groups.
