Classic design and architecture meet contemporary performers at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside. While the owners of many vintage movie theaters converted into concert halls are content to leave things much as they found them, the Keswick Theatre has retained the classic elements of the venue while modernizing all of its scheduled performances. The theater is an ideal place to view the many mainstream musicians and comedians that grace the Keswick's stage every week, and has become hugely popular with residents of Glenside, Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas.
The Keswick Theatre opened in 1928 as a cinema/vaudeville theater that was well known in Philadelphia for its excellent acoustics. It became a concert hall in 1981 and flourished with a schedule of sold-out performances. While the theater has been restored and renovated, it has also received top of the line lighting and sound systems and changes to the auditorium that further enhance the listening and viewing experience of the audience. Since that time, the Keswick Theatre has received praise from audiences and critics, and featured such star performers as Jefferson Starship, Nelly Furtado, Neko Case, Miranda Cosgrove, and many more.
Spacious seating, a stage visible to every audience member, and a location surrounded by Glenside's nightlife are just a few more reasons to pay a visit to the historic Keswick Theatre. Check the schedule above to find out what amazing performers will show up at the theater next.
