Located in Oakland, just south of Alameda, Oracle Arena is home to the Golden State Warriors and schedules numerous hit concerts. Though it is the oldest arena in the NBA, renovations and upkeep have kept it beloved by fans and audiences. In addition to basketball and concerts, Oracle Arena also hosts a number of boxing and wrestling matches, rodeos, and other events. The arena's location right next door to O.co Coliseum -- home to the A's and Raiders -- has made the area the ultimate sports complex in the Bay Area and is a popular destination for fans.
Originally called the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Arena, the venue was built in 1966 and originally hosted the California Seals hockey team. The Warriors permanently moved to the arena in 1971 but, by 1995, the facility was in disrepair and the seating capacity was the smallest in the NBA. Extensive renovations were finished in 1997, which increased the capacity from 15,000 to 19,596 and modernized the entire building. Aside from its importance in the NBA, Oracle Arena has hosted a slew of famous, scheduled musicians who have recorded live albums in the facility, including CCR, the Grateful Dead, and Duran Duran.
Fans continue to flock to Oracle Arena to see their beloved Warriors, as well as the many superstar bands and musicians on the off-season calander. Check the schedule above for a full list of events upcoming at Oracle Arena.
